Fraser Olender Reacts to Camille Lamb’s Firing

After Camille Lamb was fired by Captain Sandy Yawn on last week’s episode of Below Deck, chief stew Fraser Olender is revealing how he really feels about seeing his former co-star walk the plank.

While appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Fraser told host Andy Cohen that he has no regrets about bringing Camille’s controversial behavior and subpar work ethic to the attention of Captain Sandy.

“It needed to be done,” Fraser said, adding that he was happy that Sandy was there to encourage him to make the hard decisions.

“I’m so glad there was someone there to help me do it, and I needed that support,” he explained. “I needed her to sort of kick me up the booty and tell me that I need to stop being such a nice guy and get the job done.”

Camille’s firing was preceded by a multitude of unprofessional events and questionable behavior — notably, the constant internal conflict between Camille and fellow stew Alissa Humber.

When asked by Andy why he didn’t directly address the twosome’s constant clashing, Fraser said it “wasn’t worth it” as he had “a job to do.” He also explained that he wasn’t even aware of how badly the two were getting along.

“I had a lot going on, and I didn’t see their issues — their childish behavior of not getting along— [it wasn’t] worth it when I had a job to fulfill,” he answered.

Of course, no WWHL appearance is without a dose of shade. When asked what part of her job Camille did well at, Fraser responded, “She looked great.”

While Fraser may not be sad to Camille off the St. David, Camille’s bunkmate, deckhand Katie Glaser, says that she and Camille are the best of friends and she is bummed to see her go.

“The second she walked in, I was already in our room, and she walked in, and we immediately clicked,” Katie told ShowBiz CheatSheet.

Katie elaborated, telling the outlet that she considers Camille her “best friend throughout the whole season” of Below Deck and that the two still have a “strong bond” to this day.

“She lives like five minutes away from me. So, we definitely have that really fun vibe throughout the whole thing and still today,” Katie said.

According to Camille, the feeling is mutual.

“Katie lives down the road from me and she has been such a great friend to me, like after the show,” Camille previously told CheatSheet. “She’s a very, very nice person. And we get along in the sense that we are big, big personalities.”

“She’s definitely, female-wise the one I bonded to the most on the boat,” Camille concluded.
