Lala Kent and Katie Maloney are in a better place after admitting the “vibes” were “off” between them weeks ago.
While attending the Vanderpump Rules season 10 premiere party on Tuesday, Lala and Katie offered an update on their feud as Lala suggested her closeness to Scheana Shay may have driven a wedge between them and they also dished on dating.
“That’s resolved. I know we both care about the friendship, we’re gonna have ups and downs, we’re a passionate group of people. But we’re good,” Lala confirmed to the Daily Mail on February 7.
Meanwhile, Katie credited the tiff to a “miscommunication or lack thereof” before noting they are “on the [mend].”
As Pump Rules fans may have seen, Katie was the first to come forward with her and Lala’s drama, saying on her podcast, You’re Gonna Love Me, that the “vibes are definitely off.” Then, days later, on her own podcast, Give Them Lala, Lala agreed the “vibes are definitely off.”
Also on her podcast, Lala spoke of a tense conversation over Instagram DMs, admitting she forgot to wish Katie a happy birthday.
“I got a lot going on. That is the least of my concern. And I hope she had a very happy birthday. It slipped my mind that it was her birthday because it was MLK Day. … I completely spaced it,” she explained. “And I had [my daughter] Ocean and she was feeling sick. So there’s that.”
Also at the Pump Rules premiere party on Tuesday, Lala spoke to Us Weekly about her friendship with Katie after being asked if her friendship with Scheana had anything to do with the drama between them.
“I think [Katie] has her feelings, and I always want to make sure she feels protected and heard. And I feel like we’re back in a very good place,” Lala shared. “But this is what happens when you get a group like this together.”
“We’re very passionate, you know? We definitely feel the feels, but I just hope that I can baby all of my friendships — even if they have to be separate,” she continued. “I just want everyone to know that I love you, I care about you, and how can I baby you in moments where you’re not feeling safe? I’m trying to baby everyone.”
And while Lala admitted that she’s “sure something else will happen to unpatch everything,” Katie said she “really love[s] Lala” and “hopes” their friendship will remain intact.
“We’re better now. There was a little bit of a misunderstanding, you know, miscommunication that happened between us,” Katie revealed. “We just like spent some time not talking for a little while. And she spent some time hanging out with someone else.”
As Pump Rules fans well know, Katie’s relationship with Scheana has been rocky, at best, in recent years. And when Us Weekly questioned Scheana about where the two of them stand today, Scheana seemed unsure, encouraging the outlet to “ask her.”
Also during their interview with the Daily Mail, Lala and Katie talked dating, stating they would not be doing so on any apps.
“No apps, just out there… just going out there. Seeing who I like,” Katie explained. “[It’s the] first time being single since I was 24 so very different season of life. That’s interesting but it’s fun… [I’m] open and [enjoying] it.”
“No apps,” Lala agreed. “I’m having the best time. I’m not really dating but just having fun… it’s only been a few months.”
Katie then said that while she and Tom Schwartz did their best to remain friends amid their divorce, the outside influence of others led to complications.
“We were fine but once people started getting in the mix and throwing their opinions in the hat… But for us, mostly just trying to figure out a healthy balance of friendship with space. We’re getting there,” she shared.
Vanderpump Rules season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
